The centuries old Italian art of Venetian Plastering has enjoyed a renaissance in recent times.

Venetian Plastering

Drawing on traditional materials and practices, and along with modern developments and techniques, the modern Artisan has the freedom to create an endless canvas of polished plaster finishes.

Virtually any surface- be it walls, floors, ceilings, kitchens, bathrooms and bench tops can be plastered in a multitude of different, unique finishes, interior and exterior.

This Venetian technique is an environmentally friendly, natural and breathable material, also its resistance to mould being a major advantage in internal applications. It generally consists of a lime and marble mixture.

Finishes range from Polished Stucco, to ultra fine Classic Marmorino, to slightly coarser Marmorino grades, through to coarse Marmorino. Common coarser grades include Travertine and Stone finishes.

Morroccan Plastering or Marrakesh is another popular finish gaining a revival. A lime based plaster, it can be finished in matte or polished for further shine and then sealed with Olive Soap.

Also popular in recent times are Polished Concrete finishes, and Clay and Lime Plasters.

Our plastering methods can be applied in a vast array of Venetian finishes, including ultra polished, semi gloss and matte. Most of these finishes are generally tinted with a colour and once dry are sealed with wax, and can be colour washed for different effects.
